Labyrinth Collection

While living in Great Britain, I visited many English garden mazes. Some had the shrubs cropped to just a couple of feet; others allowed the centuries old yews to grow as high as ten feet.

In these mazes you sometimes couldn’t see the sun, and you were always uncertain where you were heading. You’d walk for several yards and come to a crossroad— turn left or turn right? Go straight or turn back?
